BAHRAIN
Trademark Registration
Requirements:
- Information of applicant: name, address, and nationality
- Classes and specification of goods/services.
- A certified copy of the priority document. (If claiming priority)
- A copy of the mark.
- Colored copy of the Commercial Registration or the contract of corporation
- POA form for use in Bahrain. This POA shall be notarized and legalized up to the Bahraini Consulate. The POA and commercial registration can be submitted after the filing within 3 months
Time for a trademark registration: 6~7 Months
Patent Registration
Requirements:
- Arabic and English Specification contains the below titles: (Background of the invention, general description of the invention, a brief description of the drawings, and detailed description) (Word format).
- Arabic and English Abstract. (Word format)
- Arabic and English claims. (Word format)
- Arabic and English drawings. (JPG format)
- Legalized and notarized POA or authenticated by an Apostille. (With Arabic translation). (We have to submit the POA within 90 days from the date of filing (strictly non-extendible).
- Legalized and notarized DOA or authenticated by an Apostille. (With Arabic translation). (We have to submit the DOA within 90 days from the date of filing (strictly non-extendible).
- Certified Arabic translation of the full specification (We have to submit the DOA within 4 months from the date of filing. The full specification must be certified translation from an authorized translation office in Bahrain.
- Certified copy of PCT filed application, if any.
Note:
(We can submit the POA, within 3 months from the date of filing without any official fees. Arabic Translation of Full Specification has to certify, we can submit the Arabic translation within 4 months from the date of filing without any official fees.
Time for a trademark registration: 12 Months
Industrial Design Registration
Requirements:
- The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
- The designer's particulars: name, address and nationality
- Notarized and Legalized power of attorney up to the Bahraini Consulate in the domicile of the applicant
- A certified and legalized commercial registration certificate of the applicant, up to the Bahraini Consulate in the domicile of the applicant (if the applicant is a company).
- Certified copy of the home/foreign registration required only up on request of the Registrar.
- Certified copy of the Priority Document. (if claimed) duly legalized up to Bahrain Embassy.
- Description of the Design and statement of novelty and three sets of drawing showing each view.
