Trademark Registration in GCC
Although trademark laws is very close to be adopted by GCC countries, registration and fees will continue only standardize the regulations in all GCC countries.
As soon as GCC trademark law is enacted, we will include an article in our website about the important features of the law.
Trademark Registration
Requirements:
- The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
- Notarized and Legalized Power of Attorney up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
- Notarized and Legalized Deed of Assignment up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant. (if the applicant is not the inventor)
- Certified Priority documents (if priority is claimed)
- Notarized and Legalized Commercial Registration Certificate up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant, if the applicant is a company.
- Specifications, Abstract and Claims along with Arabic translations
Patent Registration
Requirements:
- The applicant's particulars: numbers and nationality.
- The inventor's particulars: name, gender, address, p. o .box, e-mail address, phone, mobile and fax numbers and nationality.
- If the patent application contains more than one graphical descriptions/drawings, the main graphical description/drawing should be pointed out
- Notarized and legalized power of attorney up to the Saudi Consulate or any GCC Country Consulate in the domicile of the applicant as per the attached form. (note: we can file the application now and submit the notarized and legalized power of attorney within the following three months). Kindly insert the name and address of the applicant in the English section of the POA and sent it back to us. We will then translate the name and address in Arabic as well. Afterwards, please notarize it and legalize it up to the Saudi Consulate or in any GCC Country Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
- Notarized and legalized deed of assignment if the applicant is not the inventor (note: we can file the application now and submit the notarize and legalize deed of assignment within the following three months)
- If the applicant is an individual, then a copy of photo identification document (e.g., passport) is required. If the applicant is a company, then a certified copy of the Commercial Registration Certificate of the company is required
- Certified copy of the priority application. (note: we can file the application now and submit the certified copy of the priority within the following three months)
- Patent application, priority documents, and deed of assignment shall all be translated to Arabic within one week of filing. We can translate the same for you but this will take 1~2 weeks. (20 US$ per page)
