Trademark Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address, and nationality
  • Notarized and Legalized power of attorney up to the Yemeni Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
  • Certified copy of the priority documents.
  • Simply signed copy lips. of Commercial Registration Certificate (in case the applicant is a company).
  • Copy of the mark
  • Classes of goods/services
Time for a trademark registration: 10 Months

Note:

  • Multiple Class Registration is not available
  • Extra Fees for Long Goods/Services
  • Extra Fees for Color/Design Mark
  • Home/Foreign registration is required

Patent Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • The inventor's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Notarized and legalized POA up to the Yemeni Consulate in the domicile of the applicant
  • Notarized and legalized Deed of Assignment up to the Yemeni Consulate in the domicile of the applicant
  • Simple copy of Priority documents. (if claimed)
  • Simple copy of the Commercial Registration Certificate.
  • Drawings and specifications of the inventions in English and Arabic.

Industrial Design Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • The designer's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Notarized and legalized POA up to the Yemeni Consulate in the domicile of the applicant
  • Notarized and legalized Deed of Assignment up to the Yemeni Consulate in the domicile of the applicant (if the applicant is a company)
  • Two copies of the model or design, if it is two dimensional or two copies of each view thereof, if it is 3-D.
  • Legalized copy of the priority documents (if claimed).

Saudi Arabia: Subject to presenting a valid excuse, the Saudi patent office (SPO) has approved an extension of time for claiming priority in entering the national phase for the PCT applications. The Applications will be afforded the opportunity to file their late applications claiming their earliest priority. It's worth mentioning that the applicant must mention the reasons that made him unable to file his application within the thirty (30) month deadline.
