Trademark Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address, and nationality
  • Notarized and Legalized power of attorney up to the Omani Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
  • Notarized and Legalized Commercial Registration Certificate up to the Omani Consulate in the domicile of the applicant (in case the applicant is a company)
  • Classes and specification of goods/services
  • A copy of the trademark
  • Certified copy of the Priority Documents (if claimed)
  • Multiple class registration is available.
Time for a trademark registration: 12 Months

Note:

  • No Extra Fees for Color/Design Mark
  • Home/Foreign Registration not required
  • No extra fees for long Goods/Services

Patent Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • The inventor's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Notarized and Legalized power of attorney up to the Omani Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
  • Certified copy of the deed of assignment (if the inventor is not the applicant)
  • Certified copy of the priority documents (if claimed)
  • PCT Nation Entry is available.

Industrial Design Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • The designer's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Certified copy of the power of attorney.
  • The application shall be accompanied by the following:
    1. if the industrial design is two-dimensional, by four graphic representations or four drawings or tracings;
    2. if the industrial design is three-dimensional, by four graphic representations or four drawings or tracings of each of the different sides of the industrial design; and
    3. a printing block or printing blocks [of such dimensions as the Registrar may consider appropriate][the dimensions of which shall not exceed ( 10 centimeters x 20 centimeters) .
  • Notarized and Legalized Commercial Registration Certificate up to the Omani Consulate in the domicile of the applicant (in case the applicant is a company)
  • Certified copy of the priority documents (if claimed)

Saudi Arabia: Subject to presenting a valid excuse, the Saudi patent office (SPO) has approved an extension of time for claiming priority in entering the national phase for the PCT applications. The Applications will be afforded the opportunity to file their late applications claiming their earliest priority. It's worth mentioning that the applicant must mention the reasons that made him unable to file his application within the thirty (30) month deadline.
