Trademark Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address, and nationality
  • Simply signed Power of Attorney, required at the time of filing.
  • Class of the goods/services.
  • Copy of the mark
  • A scanned copy Home/foreign registration certificate, if such are issued.
Time for a trademark registration: 1~2 Months

Note:

  • Multiple class registration is available in Lebanon
  • Extra Fees for Color/Design Mark
  • Extra Fees for Long Goods/Services

Patent Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • The inventor's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Simply signed POA, required at the time of filing.
  • Notarized and Legalized Deed of Assignment up to the Lebanese Consulate in the domicile of the applicant. (if the inventor is not the applicant)
  • Certified Priority documents (if claimed)
  • Specifications, Claims, Abstract and drawings along with Arabic & French translations.

Industrial Design Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • The designer's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Simply signed POA, required at the time of filing.
  • Three copies of Specification and drawings.
  • Certified Priority documents (if priority is claimed)

Paris Convention, Berne Convention, Rome Convention

Saudi Arabia: Subject to presenting a valid excuse, the Saudi patent office (SPO) has approved an extension of time for claiming priority in entering the national phase for the PCT applications. The Applications will be afforded the opportunity to file their late applications claiming their earliest priority. It's worth mentioning that the applicant must mention the reasons that made him unable to file his application within the thirty (30) month deadline.
