Trademark Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address, and nationality
  • Notarized and legalized Power of attorney up to the Iraqi Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
  • Certified copy of priority document (if claimed)
  • Copy of the mark.
  • Classes of goods/services Time for a trademark registration: 24 Months
Time for a trademark registration: 24 Months

Note:

  • Multiple Class Registration is available in Iraq
  • No Extra Fees for Color/Design Mark
  • Home/Foreign Registration not required
  • No extra Fees for Long Goods/Services

Patent Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Notarized and legalized Power of attorney up to the Iraqi Consulate in the domicile of the applicant
  • Notarized and legalized Deed of assignment up to the Iraqi Consulate in the domicile of the applicant. (if the inventor is not the applicant)
  • Eight copies of the specifications in English
  • Nine sets of drawings
  • Certified Copy of priority document (if claimed)
  • The inventor's particulars: name, address and nationality

Industrial Design Registration

Requirements:

  • The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • The designer's particulars: name, address and nationality
  • Notarized and legalized Power of attorney up to the Iraqi Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
  • Notarized and legalized Deed of Assignment up to the Iraqi Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
  • Copy of the specifications in English.
  • Description and drawings of design in Arabic and English
  • Certified priority documents (if claimed).
  • Two miniature models or samples of the design.

Saudi Arabia: Subject to presenting a valid excuse, the Saudi patent office (SPO) has approved an extension of time for claiming priority in entering the national phase for the PCT applications. The Applications will be afforded the opportunity to file their late applications claiming their earliest priority. It's worth mentioning that the applicant must mention the reasons that made him unable to file his application within the thirty (30) month deadline.
